I guess the players are getting paid these days (even if it is expenses only),

but what are we/the club doing about Carey and Harris? who were injured whilst on our books? and must be financially embarassed at the moment!

Might be wrong, but I thought that any player on a long term injury was covered on insurance.

 

However, it was nice to have Westy back on Saturday.

 

Still trying to work out when is a penalty not a penalty. Ziggy was scythed down.

UBS, what gave you the impression the players were getting paid? Was it the way they played out of their skins, sweating blood, on saturday?

only if they have their own insurance... you do not get clubs insuring players at this level, they could take their own policy out if they wanted to cover themselves against this risk, as you get higher up the ladder, clubs may sign their players onto a private health scheme such as bupa to cover costs such as scans, xrays, consultations and operations.

I think I remember the Recorder saying a week or two ago that the players were getting expenses. Other than that I'm not sure i they're getting a proper wage.
