Being one of the unfortunate Dover fans who travelled on Saturday, I just wondered what you thourght of our defence. Being stuck down the far end (thankfully well away from the shambles) I was just wondering whether that is the worst defence that you have ever seen.

 

But in saying that our attacking play that I saw wasnt that good anyway! In saying that, our "goal" in the opening minutes was clearly over the line by about a foot, and for the penalty the ball moved just as Cloke was about to hit it (ala Beckham vs Portugal), and thats why it was hit straight at the keeper.

 

There poor excuses I know, cos the truth was that we deserved to get bugger all!

It was quite frightening that you could have taken all the points with that back line. We heard it was definite "goal" and we are having a streaky run with saving pens.

 

Your defence was very very poor. I stand behind the goal and they just looked terrified. There was panic and they just could not clear the lines. We know Zepherin quite well and he can be a good keeper but often he flaps at crosses and there was no way he was fouled for our third.

 

Not the worst I have seen - we played Dorking in the Trophy and we got seven.

Would not say your defence is the problem. There was no defensive midfielder - that seemed to be the main problem. Cloke's ganna be a good player, but not for a couple of years as he's still learning. Shearer did not look that great considering he's at a Conference Club and Braithwaite is not too bad at this level, so i'd say your midfield was more of a problem in my opinion...

stevey: your problem is not your players, when we played you at the beginning of the season you rounced all over us despiet the fact we weren't playing terribly... i think a lot of us would put down our win to

1)improved form all round

2)determination to show we're a great side

3)you unfortunately having browne

i was behind the goal too! the defence was a bit panicked but not the reason for their defeat

Our win against you on the first day of the season was the biggest fluke ever! We were compltely outplayed that game as well!
