Reserves v Dagenham - Home - Tonight (Monday) 7.30

I was feeling quite downbeat earlier but after seeing a good display (5-2 to the Fleet) and chatting to other suporters tonight I feel the corner we need to turn is not far away. McAllister played and looked very, very good. Lovell, Proths, Jacko & Pinns all put in good performances (except for the gloves, boys, sort it out!) but there is certainly some quality in the young lads as well. Excuse the spelling but Hahrry (?) looks set to break into the first team for a Conf. or Kent Senior Cup game at least. Encouraging indeed.

That identifies the subject of the mobile phone conversation I earwigged into on the train this morning. Must have been James Pinnock's sister or girlfriend who got on at Greenhithe & sat opposite me.

She was on the phone to her dad, describing what I eventually realized was last night's game. Person she was talking about played in midfield, just behind the front 2, whom she referred to as young lads, & scored twice, the first a half volley & the second a shot from a narrow angle. Think she mentioned Matt Rouse going off injured, too.

For all you unreconstructed sexists & baters of Fleet Babe out there, she could certainly talk a good game.

As I have previously stated its a shame more people do not attend the reserve games at only two pounds a head and free if you are a season ticket holder they are great value. The team are top of the league and still in two cups league and Kent Cup.Its great way to see the possible players of the future from the PASE boys, first teamers returning from injury or to form , and any trialists or new signings.

There was about 40 people there last night, and apart from the Dagenham supporters , they seemed to enjoy the great football played.

I try and keep the fixtures updated at the Fleet Trust site but a phone call to the club office will update you on the next fixture.

So we are still top of the League, and I think we have only about four more fixtures in the league so it could all be decided very soon,so you may miss out on some really good football if you dont drop in and see the boys.
