so called friends in high places

Good article by Warren in match day programme against Dover on how his relationship has changed with Richard Stokes Slough Council Leader over the last year.

I saw a so called friend of mine on saturday evening who is also on the Council and a Watford Supporter since the eighties who goes to all there home games.

It was a greater shock to me to see him in the council chambers during the debate on the future of the club after the day of protest in the summer and voting with the rest of his cronies.

Well during the evening I tried to get some sense from him on why he and they are anti Slough Town especially as he knows what an ardent supporter I am, but he kept coming out with the same old rhetoric that we have heard all summer like merging with another club so when I said to him how would you feel if Watford merged with Luton Town he looked at me with distan and disgust but of course he is a local councillor and its all about politics.

so long as Robert Plimmer is happy watching Watford he does'nt care a dam about the people who he is representing. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif" alt="" />

I too have spoken to Councillor Plimmer about the fate of Slough Town FC, as he has been a freind of mine for 14 years, but I got no more sense out of him than you did, it is a shame that my very good freind Simon George lost his seat to Robert Plimmer, as Simon was very pro the Football Club.

He represents Foxborough for the Liberal Democrats, which is part of Langley.
