Canvey fanzine?

Hello chaps, Southend fan here (boo, hiss etc I know).

 

Just wondering if Canvey had a fanzine and if so where I can get a copy, bit of a collector.

Sorry me shrimp, have never known canvey to have a fanzin. We had a bloody good website once though.

Better than the shrimpers and anyone else I know of.

But some big fat greedy oaff fecked it all up for us didn't he, and I dont mean Kingy either..

I did produce a fanzine once called ,'Below Sea Level.' I only did one promo edition and colour printed about 50 copies and gave them out on the coach to one of our away games. The regular Yellow Army loved it and so I approached the club (I couldn't afford the production costs, even doing copies on a home printer is expensive in terms of paper and inks) but got the cold shoulder from the club. Wonder why I wasn't surprised???

 

The club regularly has a go at the fans and asks them to get behind the team but all they mean is, 'Please pay your £11 and make lots of noise - and don't dare rock the boat.' If anyone dares to try and get closer, the shutters are quickly put up. As Matt, Ian and I know to our cost.

Yeah, I know the lads who produce the Southend one All At Sea, they had to shell out a few quid to get it started up, expensive business.

 

Clubs have always had an uneasy relationship with fanzines, guess they can't take the criticism, happy to take the money from them though!
