"Administration" - A Question for the Learned

Distant Echo

Recommended Posts

Is it true that when a club goes into "administration" all, or some, debts can be written off so that any new purchaser of the club is not liable to honour them? If this is so then "administration" would seem to be an inevitable step prior to finding a new owner - that is, of course, assuming club debts are significant. I believe the extent of club debts still needs to be confirmed to the masses (us).

ubs - think it is mate.

it is true that administration can help a club to write off a large chunk of their debts, or to have them greatly reduced. This is the reason that the FA originally imposed the 10 point deduction, as clubs who were not necessarily stuggling went into administration, and came out of it smelling of roses. QPR did this some years back, and would have been relegated had the 10 point rule been in place.

Anyone know anything about the potential share issue? Saw an advert in the programme and called the club a few times but never got through...

Is this still going ahead or will administration supersede this? or are we going to get bought by a new sugar daddy <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
