According to the e-mailed <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wow.gif" alt="" /> League Bulletin tonight, Burnham Ramblers are the third club to "throw their hat in the ring" regarding applying for promotion, so that's Abbey, Town and now Ramblers .... looks like an interesting New Year !

I don't really see why it is necessary to be rude about Abbey's ground. Ours was worse until the Sunday heroes got to work on it, we were denied promotion because of it. As the man says, at least Abbey's is their own and they have their own clubhouse and bar, to bring in a bit of much-needed cash.

 

It's entirely their business of course but no doubt the Abbey board has spotted the small print setting out ground requirements for promotion (and staying put!)and have decided what to do about it and when to do it. Just like our own! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

 

There was a time when we made friends wherever we went, now we just seem to be p1ssing people off. Obviously I hope Abbey come second in the league, but IF we come second, I hope Abbey win it - it would entirely in merit and good luck to them (but not too much! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />.

The banter on here is great but sometimes it does get a bit near the mark. Emotions were high last week and a couple of individuals (disowned by both clubs) contrived to p1ss everyone off with their antics. But everything seems cool now.

Onwards and upwards with the banter until we meet again. (A possible 3 more times)

We are fully aware of what needs to be done to ground etc and are confident that all will be ok at the appropriate time. Thanks for asking!

Am not gonna wish you luck (as I don't) but will say have a good Christmas and take stock - am looking forward to the 2nd half of the season regardless of the final outcome.

Keep going my son, you are doing well without your sparring partner! And hey, we could still have to face you three times again yet this season! Looking forward to the 22nd, weather permitting.

What about getting a few 'blame the ref' T shirts sorted out? I am sure we can come up with some decent designs between us.

What a great week I've had - Christmas has come two weeks early.

Enfield won in vase

Spurs 3 wins in a row!

 

The only dowside was the reverse against Dagenham Reserves but hay that's no disgrace when you consider Dagenham are FOUR steps above us.

 

Icing on the cake Arsenal to lose this afternoon ?

Can you fit the lino on the shirt as well? And of course the condition of the pitch....


Going at this rate we could have a double sided shirt (front and back) which is reversable for EVERY day of the week!

Talking of Christmas there was a great quote fromt the Brummie fan on the fanzone commentary of the Birmingham derby. It was 2-0 and he was saying what a great day, blah, blah and how Christmas had come early when Gareth Barry scores. He then turns round and says: "Well I thought Christmas had come early but now the Jehovah's Witnesses have just knocked at the door". Made me laugh anyway. PS 1-0 to the Ar$e.
