Question for Fleetbabe or Robert Stevenson

Every club needs creative players, and if you look at our present squad, you could probably say that Sidibe,Drury,Manny and possibly Surey are the only players to have the skills to set up goal chances.Keep knocking these players and you`ll end up with a team of long ball players and will, consequently be enjoying the pleasures of the Ryman League again.Get off of their backs and SUPPORT your team!

Sorry, Darren, you're out of line on this I'm afraid. Drury has been in fine form recently , starting with the Hornchurch game, where he looked a class above everyone else in a Fleet shirt.

I suspect you are letting personal dislike of his style of play cloud your judgement.

Most people on this forum will agree he IS playing well -it's just the strikers arn't scoring the goals that Drury is creating.

Well, that wouldn't have been all that difficult. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

FF It appears to me that you have some sort of manic desire to be rid of Drury.

Then you quite obviously don't ready my posts properly.
I want him to be far less inconsistent.

Watch him closer in the next game you watch and count how many times he gives the play to the opposition. Watch how many times he loses the ball because he believes himself to be Diego Maradona vs England in Mexico '86.

I'd rather select a starting lineup with players who can complete the simple pass or delicate through-ball 9 times out of 10.

And no I'm not 'one of the guys giving it all the verbals at the halfway position' - again if you read my posts properly you'll see I also condemn those sort of actions. I'll say it again - opinions on here are one thing, that sort of behaviour is an entirely different matter. Besides, I'm normally too busy shouting at the useless officials.

Haven't entered this debate before but it appears that a few fans( and I know that they are genuine supporters) have a downer on Drury. Personaly I think he is one of the most talented players I've seen at the Fleet for a long time. Give him support, not abuse and he will do a fantastic job for us.

I am being realistic ff, he has the quality and the skill to go a long way.

Why does it always seem that when things go wrong, or we lose, people (namely ff) blame drury, when other players could be at fault too. It has nothing to do with whether I fancy him or not. I happen to think that he is a player who oozes quality and skill, and he could end up going a long way in football, either professionally or semi - pro.

The reason that I don't use my real name is that I prefer to remain as fleetbabe to those who don't actually know me, the same as a lot of people round here.

FF as I have said before, Jukebox is not the only player to give the ball away, so I don't see why you blame everything on him when we lose.

I think that he's played well in every game I've seen him play after Hornchurch this season, and there are other players who are not performing well who are lets say, um..... not more worthy, but better suited to your criticism. I'm not saying that you, or anyone else, should slate any of the other squad members, but TRY LAYING OFF DRURY ONCE IN A WHILE.

Criticism is pointless, as it does nothing to boost the confidence of the players, so in theory ff, you are one of the reasons that he gives the ball away when he does. You see, criticism knocks the confidence of the player, this does nothing for their motivation, this drops, they stop believing in their ability, and therefore they give the ball away and make more mistakes.
