Nail Biting....in the end....

Slough know what happened...defending too deep ...nearly got a couple of break aways..though and a penalty denied ! could have been more comfortable...

anyhow 3 points is 3 points ...we looked a bit jaded in the last 20 mins too....not too surprised after last weeks let down...

glad we did not give steve brown any christmas cheer either...

all in all a good day... up the Rebels...

Did the kids footie team count in the attendances figures? Whoever sorted that out deserves a pat on the back - i heard Slough are gonna sponsor two local kids sides - any more details? Is this the club doing this or the Trust?

I generally think the trust need to blow its own trumpet more, especially in the programme, to get more people on board.

First of all, very good result and pleased to get one over on Mr. Browne but what the hell were we playing at? Talk about trying to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

For long periods we completely outclassed what seemed to be a very poor Dover side. Yet we capitulated in the final half hour. Whilst we should have had a penalty if you look over the game as a whole they should have had a goal after 60 seconds, they missed a penalty and a better keeper would have prevented two of ours. It could have been 4-1 to Dover.

Thankfully games are not decided on what ifs and we held onto the three points but this is an alarming trend that has plagued us this season and needs to be rapidly resolved.

couldn't agree more... it seems that we have a nasty habit of resting on laurels or getting knackered by the lsat quarter... possibly due to eddie never using subs unless he has to? still be probably knows more than me about his team, i imagine he likes to keep continuity in a game.

I guess that is exactly his view. Eddie picks his best XI and sticks with it. I susepct the problem may be on the flanks - Josie and Al always run themselves into the ground and then fade a little. We lose our shape and some of our attacking prowess and then get clobbered. The trouble is we have no real cover for Josias. Still a win is a win is a win. Definately something for Eddie to ponder though.

my point exactly, i think the problem with the yeading game was the fact that we had no delivey with haddow not being at his best after the nasty knock he picked up and josias not being able to get free.

When our wingers work its wonderful but we can't rely on them all the time since if something occurs which voids their effectiveness we lose all momentum

Its important to strengthen our ties with the town and if the trust can do this all the better....more news soon...
