Lee Shearer

From some newspaper in Norfolk

"Lee Shearer, a Conference central defender, is the latest target for Linnets manager Tommy Taylor before the trip to fifth-place Chesham United tomorrow.

The Gravesend & Northfleet 27-year-old has for the last two months been on loan at Ryman Premier strugglers Dover Athletic, where he had a successful spell in the Conference along with another Kent rival, Margate.

Until the summer of 1998 former England Schoolboy international Shearer was on the books of Leyton Orient under Taylor.

"We put in an approach by fax today, and we're waiting to hear from Gravesend," said Taylor yesterday.

"I want strong players like Lee who has been in the Conference and can look after himself.

"I had a meeting with the board the other night and I said I only want to bring people in who will be at the club for another year or two."

And surely he's worth more than 10 grand. If they want him, we've got to get the best price for him, which is over that figure.

Unlikely - right or wrong, you rarely see amounts like £10,000 spent on defenders in non-league football.

Thankyou. So that's what, below the conference, and below the conference south, which is where he's playing now with Dover isn't it? why would he want to drop down another league?
Cant help noticing Fleetbabe, but your not the sharpest knife in the cupboard when it comes to non league football, who are the linnets? What league do they play in? Either read a copy of NLP or get out the house a bit. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/attentat.gif" alt="" />

Sorry but this was last week.

Kings Lynn did enquire, but the interest kind of waned when they found out that Lee doesn't drive.

I don't buy the non league paper, sorry, don't have time, other things to do, like schoolwork and coursework, and then there's other things.

I spend plenty of time out of the house. I knew who they were as soon as the club's name was mentioned, I don't know every team in every league by there nickname, sorry. And I don't know every team in every league below the conference either.
