Spot of news...

For those of you who are unaware.

On the 6th March 2004, following the home match against Hornchurch, Rob Smith, along with Derek Brown, set upon two St Albans City fans and punched and kicked them, knocking one of them to the ground. The reason for this attack was because a third fan, who was not assaulted, wrote a message on this board calling Derek Brown "toilet".

John Gibson and Steve Castle caught the tail-end of this incident, yet instead of firing both players on the spot, Brown (only played two further games for the club) and Smith (hadn't played since) were both allowed to remain in their employment, and Gibson went as far as to tell the local press that he, in Smith and Brown's position, would too have punched and kicked these two fans.

I think that was the day I fell out of love with St Albans City FC.

Hi Rob.

Actually, I wasn't being pedantic. Just curious.

I assumed that the Media, Press & Communications Department [inbound Division] at Webbo Tower had received a Press Release from the Media, Press & Communications Department [Outbound Division] of The Mighty Saints and reproduced the thing.

Don't tell me. Gibbo phoned Webbo. You might suggest to t'lad that next time, he should ask for a little more meat to put on the bones of this stuff. It could add even 50 to the attendance which would mean £12,000 a year to the club.

Lap-dog.

Err....by the way. I was sticking to the subject.

Precisely Zeal. Didn't Brown up and leave to Kettering and the end of the season, one of the worst-kept secrets at SACFC for a long-time?

I wonder what the exact figure is in terms of how much those two cost the club. I also wonder whether Lippiatt has had the sense to see Smith is a current waste of space, or whether the injury has worsened, because according to Castle, Smith was soon to return to action, wasn't he?

Very puzzled about Parker.

Quote from that post back in March from EFM the firm, the voice
This season he doesn't want to be here, he will go in the summer and is playing like this, not the sort of attitude i'd expect from a club captain.

How right was he, the good looking fellow!

It's about time we started to do something about this. i was speaking to someone in O'Neils last night, he is a ST holder at City but sit's in the stand so we probably wouldn't of really ever noticed him and he said the same "Gibson must go"

He needs to go and it's about time the 98% of what's left of the club started voicing their disapproval of how the club is run, I notice his biggest "fans" John "he saved the club" Farmer and them knobjockeys that had a go at gertcha at Eastbourne weren't one of the 177 there on Tuesday.

The only people who want him there are the one's who are getting something off him (freeloading). This club is rotten from top to bottom and I've had enough.

Where are the hate mob that drove the last chairman out?

I thought this thread was about two players being released and another going on the transfer list. We are in deep doo doo at the bottom of the table and it's about time we let Lippiatt do the managing. Smith should have been got rid of months ago and regardless of what YB says, Parker has not played well all season. None of you whingers and moaning minnies would have a fkg clue about turning it all around. It's all so easy to do it on here isn't it.

Hi Alf.

Your second post on here, I see. The first was calling for the resignation of the chap who used to drive the red tractor following the F.A. Cup expulsion, if I recall. It was his fault, you thought. Hmmnn. Welcome back.

Interesting points you make there once again Alf. Permit me to raise one small query, however.

You say "..it's about time we let Lippiatt do the managing."

Perhaps you will let us know who it is on here that is preventing Colin Lippiatt from managing the side and in what fashion? Who is the "we"? Is it a "we" from somewhere else?
