MIDWEEK CROWDS

there has been some discussion on why midweek crowds are low compared to Sats. The Sky footie obviously does not help but one big difference is the number of youngsters TJ's and U16's we attract to the Sat games who because of school committments cannot make evening gamess. This reduces our gate by approx 75-100 each evening. also the away support is always les midweek than sats probably accounting for another 50 from well supported clubs. Add this to the 265 we had this week and there we have 400+.

As I have said before bring a freind with you and get them hooked too. It would be nice to see regular 600+ crowds.

Yeah it would be nice to see a return to the big crowds we used to see at new lodge. I do my best to bring a mate along, but as i was schooled in chelmsford most of my mates live there, so its sometimes hard to get them interested. Its true though, if a third of Saturdays crowd brings an extra friend along, bingo, thats a 600 crowd

...the big crowds are coming. The BTSA had a stall the High St on Weds Xmas Fun Night and there was a lot of interest. With the team playing well and looking for better performances at ecery game, it'll happen...We just need to spread the word and be patient. It'll come

One thing that everybody can do to help boost crowds is to get involved in putting up posters.... One problem we face is that if you don't buy a local paper (or visit the website, natch) which is probably most of Billericay, you may not be aware when Billericay are playing.

 

Please take a poster from the club, or download and print one from the site and put it up where loads of people will see it. Posters will be online advertising the Christmas games soon.... watch this space!

I don't know what the rules are on kick off times, but I think slightly later starts would increase attendances a little because people can't get away from work in time to get to a 7.45 kick off. As it appears not many youngsters get to mid-week matches the later finish would not affect them because they are'nt coming anyway.

Although me and my daughter get home around 6.30, we still missed the first 5 minutes on Tuesday and I think this would put some people off bothering.
