Suggestions to improve the City programme

Iron Webbo

Recommended Posts

Having taken a look at last night's programme, perhaps the time is now upon us to try and improve it if we can. The following are a few suggestions for content. Does anyone feel like helping out?

To add to Chairman's page (1), Manager's page (1), Park Life (1), Supporters Club (1), Opposition (1 or 2), Stats (2), Player profile (1), Action shots (1) & Teams (1), what about some of the following:

Appoint a programme editor;

Introduce Captain’s page;

Squad shot of the opposition & oppo’s man to watch;

Results & round-up of opposition’s season to date;

Away match reports, with photos;

All the league tables from the pyramid;

Nationwide South attendances analysis;

Nationwide South Current Form;

City Roll Call;

Update centre-page spread;

Photo with player article;

On this day, review of 5, 15 & 25 years ago (Webbo’s idea);

Kit/player sponsorship page £50 a head?

Nationwide South/Conference/Non-League news page(s);

Regular updates on Youth & Reserves;

Preview on forthcoming fixtures;

Today's/This week's fixtures;

Up to date table (even with City near the bottom).

Any takers?

You could do with a supporter submitting a regular column about life at St Albans although I would watch what you say about Mr Gibson!!

Oh and don't criticise referees. I criticised a ref's performance in my programme column for Canvey and had the paragraph cut out by our programme editor!!

Yes, whatever happended to the player sponsorship page?

Difficult I know when most players are only here for half a season at best but a reasonable source of revenue for the club/supporters' club I would have thought.

I don't mind helping out with some of the stats, that centre page spread is getting embarrassing!

Ah, just had a wizard idea. How about starting a shirt sponsorship instead of a player sponsorship? For, say, £75, you sponsor a particular shirt number for the season and at the end of the season you get to keep the shirt? Gets round the problem of players coming and going all the time.

No thanks necessary, it was nothing really...

Rob - shirt sponsorship rather than player is a cracker. Enfield Town use it too and it works. Get those sponsors rolling in. At Braintree we're doing £50 to sponsor the shirt or £100 to sponsor the shirt, get it signed by a player of your choice at the end of the season and keep it as a souvenir. Our page has already made us £1022 (we sell Laces to the young 'uns for £2).

Zeal & Webbo - good work. Let me know what you'll be submitting and I'll get Lee to prepare the pages.

Jill - spelling isn't everything! it's the thought that counts.

Yellow - as a great man once said: "there's a line" between match officials and the rest of humanity. Them & us.

Sorry, offtopic.

How much was it to get in when you played Stortford away?

(Expect Conf.South to be different prices from Ryman Prem, if you don't know / remember, or what do you pay at Clarence Park)

Just want a ball park figure, Steve and myself are thinking of doing Stortford v Margate next Tuesday as no midweek games for the Iron.
