I've been to two matches on 8th December over the last 15 years. Both produced six goals!

 

8.12.90 Spurs 3 Sunderland 3

Spurs came from 0-2, and then 2-3 behind. Paul Walsh scored two. Can't remember who got the third.

 

8.12.01 Billericay 1 St Albans 5

Canvey knocked five past us the previous Saturday. We put a further five past Hampton the following Saturday. Five. It's the magic number. And it would still be two years until Saints fans were ducking pebbles.

I seem to remember Rob Smith scoring a corker in that game, wonderful one touch passing, a couple of dummys and swept home.

 

We had a good manager then, what ever happened to him?

Rob Smith? Hmmm, I think he was the fella who got sacked by the club last season for an unsavoury incident in the clubhouse.

That was terrible, glad the club made an example of him, imagine if he was still picking up his inflated wage in these times of trouble. The top brass at the club have really done well actually, getting rid of all the racists and the cheerleader intimadators, even that old women related to Gibbo that we all used to run from isn't around anymore.

And Newcastle at home in the cup, glory days!
