I won't mention...

Recommended Posts

..the anniversary of John Lennon's passing, as it will doubtless be met with the usual derisory comments from a certain quarter.

When it was two years since George Harrison died, I was told I could mention it after one year, five years and ten years, but not after two!

Still, will be playing some Lennon albums back-to-back this afternoon in tribute to the great man!

Across The Universe

Words are flowing out like endless rain into a paper cup,

They slither while they pass, they slip away across the universe

Pools of sorrow, waves of joy are drifting through my open mind,

Possessing and caressing me.

Jai guru deva om

Nothing’s gonna change my world,

Nothing’s gonna change my world.

Images of broken light which dance before me like a million eyes,

That call me on and on across the universe,

Thoughts meander like a restless wind inside a letter box they

Tumble blindly as they make their way

Across the universe

Jai guru deva om

Nothing’s gonna change my world,

Nothing’s gonna change my world.

Sounds of laughter shades of earth are ringing

Through my open views inviting and inciting me

Limitless undying love which shines around me like a

Million suns, it calls me on and on

Across the universe

Jai guru deva om

Nothing’s gonna change my world,

Nothing’s gonna change my world.

Beat that Jimbob, you [****!!****].

And it's goodbye Ruby Tuesday

Come home you silly cow

We've baked a cake and your friends are waiting

and David Icke says he'd like to show us how

to love you back to life again now

Yeah, sheer poetry, isn't it? <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

I'm confused

It's funny,

But I'm not amused

I'd fight the system

But what's the use

It's fire resistant

And waterproof

I wish it would rain

It blends in

With the hurt and pain

Pretending I'm like

Kurt Cobain

Nothing ventured

Nothing gained

And nothing planned

Your every wish

Is my command

I'll feed your fish

I'll hold your hand

Make a fist

And join your band

Come down and see me

And I'll take you to

The alleyways and avenues

The longitude and latitude

Of my defeatist attitude

I think I'll stay in bed this week

Sew myself into the sheets

Destroy my health

With beer and sweets

And daytime televisual treats

Come down and see me

And I'll take you to

The alleyways and avenues

The longitude and latitude

Of my defeatist attitude

That's rubbish!

Working Class Hero

As soon as your born they make you feel small,

By giving you no time instead of it all,

Till the pain is so big you feel nothing at all,

A working class hero is something to be,

They hurt you at home and they hit you at school,

They hate you if you're clever and they despise a fool,

Till you're so fcking crazy you can't follow their rules,

A working class hero is something to be,

When they've tortured and scared you for twenty odd years,

Then they expect you to pick a career,

When you can't really function you're so full of fear,

A working class hero is something to be, .

Keep you doped with religion and sex and TV,

And you think you're so clever and classless and free,

But you're still fcking peasents as far as I can see,

A working class hero is something to be,

There's room at the top they are telling you still,

But first you must learn how to smile as you kill,

If you want to be like the folks on the hill,

A working class hero is something to be.

If you want to be a hero well just follow me,

Read, and read again, mate. Jim couldn't touch the lyrics to Working Class Hero.

The only reason Imagine was no.247 in the chart (which it obviously wasn't, but I'm humouring you) was because it was released in 1975, five years before his death, you eight-legged piece of shìt.

What you meant to say, was that his new single, Just Like Starting Over, was only no.33 in the chart the week before his death. Which, in 1980 terms, was actually a pretty good entry position, as most records in the 70s/80s charted low and slowly made their way up over a course of weeks.

Now fk off back to your web.
