stadium update

On Friday our Architects posted us copies of the drawings for the new Stadium, to date these drawings have not arrived!!

 

We have managed to get a couple of them e-mailed and enlarged and will put them on display at the game tonight.

 

As soon as the rest arrive we will organise to display them in the Social Club.

sorry its a bit late for those at the game but i have only got to a computer to find out myself. but i would like to thank the club for the update.

It was on the site before I left. We were promised

a look at these and I think it has taken some reminding to get SOMETHING out to us.. Were they not there for the residents I wonder? If they were then why aren't they here now. What was available wasn't what I was hoping to see.Impressive but not enough imformation. Hope this isn't whats being handed in to the council. Think they may need a lot more than that to be impressed. Papers have to be in by Friday 4.p.m. apparently.

I hope to God the two bits of paper on the wall last night were just a tiny sample of a mountain of drawings. I don't think a child's drawing and a side view of the hotel is exactly what the council were expecting. Let's hope all those 'lost in the post' drawings turn up by tomorrow, hadn't heard that story when I saw the drawings last night but my reaction when I saw them was - oh [censored], is that all ?

they were on a sample i saw the whole plans in detail last night they were not all put on display because lets be honest how many of us including me could understand the details but honestly they are all there

Slightly surprised that "important documents" are entrusted to the ordinary post at this (or any other!) time of year.

Does this mean they will be on show today THURSDAY

at the social club/office for us to see.If they are all there then according to their quote that should be the case.

I'm sure if they had not arrived by yesterday morning a courier would have been arranged to bring down copies.

At the game on tuesday was told by a director that 4p.m. Friday was the deadline,so I doubt whether we will get any news at least before next week. Can anyone see the council just saying "YES" and leaving the club to get on with things. Don't somehow think so.

it will take at least another 8 weeks at least gose and all that stuff but i hope we could get a nod of encouragement from our beloved council leader next week

I cannot think that having come this far the club and partners have not bent over backwards and in all other directions to ensure that the Council have everything they have requested within the timescale. I trust them in that.

The Council are in an inenviable position, given that, if I am right in the first paragraph, they will have to work extremely hard to deny us this time, and if they do, they surely must be aware of the serious consequences to their rather shaky popularity and chance of ever holding office again come the next elections.

I would like to trust them (as elected public servants) to have the best interests of the majority of ordinary people in Margate in mind when they make the decision, but given what has gone before, an effort is needed on their behalf in this also.
