Watson rescues a point

I0 -15 minutes on the pitch and Darren does more in those minutes than others do in 90. Someone tell me why some of our players seem to want to walk the ball into the net. No names mentioned. Those that went tonight will know who I am talking about. Our forwards seriously need to have practice at shooting instead of trying to beat everyone FIRST. A game we should have won comfortably.Their real first strike at goal and on a breakaway too.We should have won this one. Same old story eh?

Ref was a Wan**R. Should have given their guy a second yellow for a bad kick out at Benevides but completely bottled it.

I guess there were'nt many there ,but wondered how Scott Ward played compared to Peter Trego.

I think Ward was hard done by the fans at margate, and is a decent keeper.

However, i reckon Trego is a very good keeper;who if he was 2inches taller could have made it big time.

Just occasionally his lack of height works against him;but overall a good signing by CK.

its not that often i disagreee with u michaelmichael

but ward was terible he really wasnt up to it at the 1st lewes v gate game if we had more opertunites to score we would have done so with ease.

But think u are spot on with trego his height is a bit of a problem we really are suspect from setpeices that come in the box with any height on it shame as he is a treamondus keeper other then that.

Think Ward is at that 'home in the sky 'for ex Margate keepers.

Crawley Town-but currently on loan to Lewes from Crawley.

Again, i rate Trego as the better keeper in our current position;and is actually less prone to errors than many(don't let us down tomorrow Peter) but reckon in a couple of years, Ward will make it with some team, and potentially could go a long way as he has age on his side.

Anyone told you gents that size is not all it's cracked up to be?

Trego is a giant in terms of goalkeeping skill.

He was magnificent on Tuesday and a credit to the team.

He is better than Scott Ward. However, I never subscribed to those who said he was rubbish, he is OK, and did not deserve the rather unpleasant vocal abuse that was dished out to him in previous times and on Tuesday.

Lewes have him and are happy, fair play to them.

We have Peter Trego and thank goodness for that.

Hi MM,

It is difficult to really compare the two, as I normally stand behind the opposing goal.

He did not really get any difficult balls to save that I could see on Tuesday, and at times when we were pressing looked a tad nervous, as did the defence in general. His distribution is not as good as Peter's, does the odd mis kick, but that may have been down to the amount of heckling he had to endure. Has a bit of a tendency to fumble the ball sometimes.

Peter tends to come out of the goal more, sometimes very astute and brave, sometimes gives me the willies as it can be risky. Even at the distance of a whole pitch length though I saw him make a couple of brilliant saves. He also got injured in a tussle with one of the Lewes guys, and I was quite concerned for a time, but he recovered well.

Had Ward stayed with us I think we would have warmed to him in time, he is a good goalie, but in general I think Peter is the better of the two, and pretty much better than all the goalies I have seen so far in this league.

I thought he, Peter, pulled of some good saves and even us behind the other goal were giving Ward stick by saying "thats the way to do it". Ward was being told he was a flapper.. by me... and he duly obliged on a couple of occasions. That was the first time I had seen Ward so to be fair I shouldnt really judge him but on the night Peter showed him up in almost every department.
