Brave old Chuck. He has risen in stature in my view for that courage.

 

But given his recent error strewn performances and a potentially serious and recurring injury are Windsor short on cover between the sticks?

 

Have to say I agree with Ian, the Capital League keeper seemed a little short on quality. Not big enough for the step up either.

 

Without wishing to tempt fate I would say that Allaway has seemed head and shoulders above anyone else I have seen recently.

I think that first it is worth noting that the keeper who played against Slough in the Capital League match was replaced a long time ago.

 

Our 'new' Capital League keeper did very well in the berks & Bucks match against Marlow but I have to say that I am not too sure about putting him into the first team just yet. There is also a problem with the fact that he goes back to his family in Leeds evey weekend.

 

As for Allaway, he is a very good keeper and should have stayed at Leeds. But having wathed he goals against Yeading have to say that he looked very static for the two in the second half, but big game and all that can affect a player.

 

Hopefully Den would have found a replacement before Saturday or we could be seeing Colin 'The Cat' Ferguson donning the gloves again as he did for the reserves last season (1 game 1 clean sheet 100% record), and no that wasn't because of a good defence either!!

Glad to hear it Mal. It is tough with keepers at this level you often find that they are very talented in some respects but have flaws that can often prove fatal.

 

I think your being a little harsh on Allaway, but I would say that. The defence allowed two free headers and it would have taken something incredible to keep them out.
