McFlynn does not make the bench for Morecambe

Yes, just what we need to sort things out - a fat bloke who spends 95.4% of his time doing step-overs and flicks that go straight to the opposition. Morecambe have obviously worked that out, as did QPR and Woking. He had the odd good game for us and started well but it all went pear-shaped long before he left. Same as his spell with Morecambe by the looks of it.

If he is so good why can't he get in Morecambe's team? Some of us are not so easily dazzled by a bit of fancy (and futile) footwork. And before anyone mentions he plays for Northern Ireland Under-21s, you could stick a bowler hat on a paraplegic and he would get picked for NI.

But then I am also anonymous (like I'm supposed to know who you are) and unregistered so my views are meaningless and utterly contemptible.

In my view, Terry was one of the most skillful players to have worn the blue of Margate for quite a while. Ok, his stuff didn't always come off and perhaps he's not the right man if you're looking to grind out results, but I'd fancy him to make a maasive imperssion at this level. He is the type of player that could compliment Keister's terrier like game to produce the creative spark in midfield. Having said that, I wouldn't put too much money on a return.

Whilst I agree that Terry was a skillful, flair player, you need people around him to cover for him when his flair goes wrong. I dont think we could afford him in our team at the moment. To me a greater loss was Saunders and dare I say it Jake. I think we need those type of player first, when we get a rock solid defence we can afford to have creative players.

Just posted on the BBC Non League football web pages:

Morecambe midfielder Terry McFlynn has been told he can leave Christie Park.

McFlynn, 23, has been placed on the transfer-list and will be allowed to leave on loan or on a permanent basis.

"He's got great talent, which I see in training, but he's not been able to produce that in the first team," boss Jim Harvey told the Morecambe Visitor.

A former Northern Ireland under-21 international, McFlynn joined the Shrimpers from Conference rivals Margate in November 2003.

Super guty Terry, and shame it may not have worked out for him.

You have to hand it to JP and/or CK though for getting £15k last January for him!!

I don't think too many of us could ever rate Terry at that price !!

I think we need battlers in midfield and Terry is not one of those.

However i would equally welcome him back ,as he does have extra quality;and maybe he should take a leaf out of Sam Sodge's book-come back to us for rest of seson, put himself in shop window and get a league club next summer.

All credit to Sam who did exactly that.
