I've just put a call into the club. Both the Thatcher and Chamberlain suites have private functions being held in them tonight.

 

I reckon a couple of swift ones in Edward Heath Lounge before moving into one of the snooker halls.

 

I think the Churchill Hall will be openend to show the footie later to.

Why would I want to:

 

a) watch a dire non-league football match,

put money into Gibson's pocket when he's still banned one of my mates, and it letting the club go to the dogs,

c) stand in the freezing cold for 90 minutes when I could be enjoying a couple of frames of snooker and some pintage with a fellow Conservative??

I'm not 100% sure I'm going to Baggy Mondays yet and the only reason I am going is my Wednesday engagement moved to Tuesday.

 

So what we are basically all saying then is Gibson has won and let's just let the club we love and brought us all together go to the dogs. What a [****!!****] defeatist attitude!

No, Gibson hasn't won. I've just lost interest. Gibson would have won if I'd carried on going.

 

It's more to do with the social side than anything else. As someone once said, "it just ain't fun anymore".

 

If, for example, I've got £20 to spend tonight, I'm going to spend it on the thing that would bring me the most enjoyment. To you that might be going to the football. To me, it's having a quiet drink with Dave.

I meant 4-2 drubbing - how was I to know there'd be league games cutting short our best of seven match!!

Bit of a shame there were some league matches going on, I was enjoying it last night.
