Wouldn't say I'm a huge fan of 22-20s, but new talent this year has been at an all-time low. Very surprised you like them, Thornsy - would say there's very little difference between them and the Stands.

re: Jet. Good point. I didn't buy the album til early this year, hence it snuck in without me thinking too much about it!

I'm not a huge fan of 22-20's I thought they were pretty bad (but I didn't want to hurt your feelings ) Not quite sure I see the connection with The Stands tho'

I disagree about new talent, this year for me has been fantastic for new talent, unfortunantly you probably just haven't managed to hear most of it (I WILL make that CD for you), I think it's been the best for many years!

I shall go away and produce a list

Joss Stone - well overrated. The Delays - a bit gay.

Babyshambles or Charlotte Hatherley wouldn't qualify as new acts in the Zeal Awards.

Dogs Die In Hot Cars have been going for a number of years, I believe? As has Har Mar Superstar, I think.

Think I saw the Futureheads support Graham Coxon - sounded like a third rate Franz Ferdinand.

I'll give you the shout on Ordinary Boys!!

Didn't say they were all good

Just because one member of the Libertines is in Babyshambles doesn't make them a old act.

Dogs Die in Hot Cars first single was out May this year

Har Mar's was last year but his album was this year.

All bands are doing the toilet circuit for a couple of years so whats your definition of "new"

Futureheads are brilliant - Got a hint of ska about them, if you did see them it must of been an off day.

Will have to trust you're right about Dogs Die In Hot Cars - seems like the name's been round a lot longer. 4-5 years at least. Probably thinking of someone else.

Just because one member of the Libertines is in Babyshambles DOES make them an old act. Because it's the most important member. Wings could never have been nominated in a "Best New Act" category, nor could the Seahorses or Hurricane No.1.

Will take your word for it about the Futureheads. Admittedly one gig doth not make a band, but nothing about them made me prick up an ear.

Bought a couple of singles by the Killers too. Didn't impress.

And Razorlight are ordinary. An uninteresting mixture of Franz Ferdinand and the Hives.
