Hi Webbo.

 

You wouldn't have seen them, of course, because it was an away match featuring The Mighty Saints and I know that you don't 'do' those, but at Grays on Saturday, they have A4 posters advertising the next game at "The New Rec." They are in the 'traditional' style, Blue letters on a white background, simple and effective.

 

Apparently, their web-site produces these things and the reader can click on something and downthingummyjig as many copies as are required. I gather that The Urchins do the same thing.

 

How's that for a good idea?

 

No, no, no Webbo. I don't think that it's good idea for any of us to downthing 20 or so posters advertising the next game involving League leaders Grays Athletic or even our good friends The Urchins. Let me make myself perfectly clear.

 

How difficult would it be for you to produce a poster on Rob's web-site for the next match at Clarence Park, having confirmed the details with the St Albans Observer in advance, of course, and we could all produce 20 or so for distribution around the City. If even fifty people are attracted to Fortress Clarence Park as a result, that would mean an additional £12,000 per season for the club.

 

Best to get official approval first, of course.

 

If this idea is adopted, I'll waive my usual fee. Doin' it for The City, etc.

How many people are we expecting to make the effort of printing these off and putting them up around town ?

 

Based on previous experience my bet is you will be able to count them on one hand ......well maybe two but you wont need to take your shoes and socks off .........

Wonderful work Webbo. What a super chap you are to create a matchday poster, available via Rob's web-site, for printing by fans in the privacy of their own homes, keen to promote matches and attract larger crowds to Clarence Park. A truly fantastic thought, Webbo. Brilliant, mate. You will be in line for 'Clubman Of The Year' this season for that effort. Quite magnificent.

 

Well done to whatsisname for the idea in the first place. I wouldn't want to be overly profuse in that direction, of course. Wouldn't want to take any of the glory away from Wor Webbo. Oh no. I hope you didn't menyion that someone else had suggested the thing when you obtained official sanction from Gibbo.

 

I don't know why I bother.
