As Maggie's reign as Prime Minister ended when Colin had just turned 16, I'm struggling to think of any way her three terms in government could have directly affected him or his family. Particularly living in prosperous St Albans.

Was she responsible for the Poll tax, at the time I was sharing a flat with 3 other people we had to pay per head. We had to pay more because 4 lived there although it was only big enough for 2.

 

Then as soon as I moved out and lived with just my X, it is per property.

Because young people who went out to work had to pay for their own taxes instead of mummy and daddy covering it with their council tax?

The miners are much better off since Maggie's reign. For one thing, they don't have to go underground and get filthy anymore. Talk about ungrateful.

hahah .. didnt they used to talk with pride about the glorious day when no more men would have to go those filthy holes to die.. well maggie just did em all a favour and now they can get nice outdoor jobs like pheasent beating..

as for the poll tax, i cant see how it is unfair...its only when the poncing scum actually pay for stuff that they start to appreciate it or give a toss how it is run
