Bought myself three Spurs FA Cup Final DVDs. 1981, '82 and '87.

 

Gonna stick the '87 final on tonight - get the defeat over and done with! That was the first ever Cup Final I went to, actually. As an eleven-year old lad, I was pretty devastated! Had to go to Coventry the following week too for Ascension Day service at the cathedral with the school choir.

 

The '67 final is available too - may buy that at a later date.

 

Already got the '91 final on vid, of course!!

Watched part of the '87 Final last night - well, until we went 2-1 up, at least!

 

Great game for the neutral I guess, and we boasted a side that included Hoddle, Waddle, Clive Allen, Ardiles, Paul Allen, Gough, Mabbutt etc., but...

 

I can't help feeling it's something of an embarrassment to lose an FA Cup Final against a team whose team sponsors were 'Granada Bingo'.

Was that the game when half of the Spurs boys shirts didn't have a sponsor on ?

The official line is that it was a mistake, but I reckon it could well have been a deliberate thing to get Holsten some extra advertising. It was all over the newspapers etc. at the time so they got a lot of publicity from it!
