What is the point of having a safety certificate for x amount of people - which I presume has been set by the local council, Health & Safety brigade and plod - then to say sorry no can do, when you need to use it?

I know this is hypothetical, but say Yeading draw Carlisle in the Trophy semi-final, and it is realistic to assume that the 3,000(?) capacity would be reached, would this cause a problem for the authorities? Would said game have to be switched? At the end of the day it is 3,000 people. Either the ground can accomodate them or not regardless who the opposition are.

Can't see Yeading reaching Trophy semi-finals somehow <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

If I was being cynical I would suspect that Yeading went to their council and said something along the lines of

"We need a safety certificate for 3000 people to satisfy the ground grading requirements. You might as well give us the certificate, even though the ground is only suitable for 1500 as we've only got 20 fans ourselves so unless we get to the 3rd round of the FA Cup and get somebody like Newcastle it won't be an issue"

But I'm not really that cynical. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
