<SNIP> Whilst we're on the subject of Andy Ford perhaps someone could explain what benefit we've had of Andy going full time. He still hasn't found that striker, other part time clubs don't seem to have any problems.

Agreed we need another quality striker but disagree with your comments about other part-time clubs do not have such problems finding a striker.

If you look at the Top Goalscorers list for the Conference, you will notice that with the exception of Charlie Griffin of Forest Green Rovers the Top 15 goalscorers all play for Full Time Teams!

Of course there are part time teams in lower leagues where strikers seem to be banging in goals for fun but chances are that if they moved up that "extra level" to the Conference they would not nearly be so prolific.

As good a manager as Andy Ford is there is only so much he can do while the team remains part-time. To take the Club to the extra level he needs to be working with players full time. Until this time comes mid-table in the Conference seems a pretty respectable position.

What so Andy should just get any player he sees?

RANT ALERT:

Lets get a little perspective here shall we, Andy turned us from mid table in the Rymans premier to mid table in the nationwide conference.

If you want fancy football and beating teams 4-0 every week then go and support Chelsea, here at the Fleet were proud by the fact that we don't go buying out the opposition and have started of below everyone else and when we get to be European Champions of the world and Andy Ford is made into Sir Lord Night MBE/OBE President of Gravesend and Northfleet we'll see who you want to support then?

RANT OVER:

Oh ****, I've just realised I have the work keys on me.

There's has got to be someone out there, somewhere, who is capable, given the chance, of stepping up to our level. I mean Hatch can't be a one off

Signing a new player at this level is not as simple as signing a new player and thats it, and thank god it isn't otherwise we'd all be doing it and then where would that leave us? All at the same position in the league without anything to moan about....except the lack of stuff to moan about.

Could I be in the best position to say why you should just buy any old players? Veron, Crespo, Mutu.....

OK - we'll allow swearing in this thread...

Sorry about that, I'd been on the new Shepheard Neame winter ale last night. I seems to make me a bit frisky! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

I hope Hatch is a one off, after what he did to shearer!

Agree we need a striker, but why do we still dwell on the fact that we lost Liam to Barnet? Look how well we've done without him! I know he kept us up, but look at it. We got to the second round of the FA cup, and finished 11th in the league. This season we started fantastically, have dropped off slightly, but with a win tonight and against Barnet on saturday, we'll be fine.
