Yeading vs Newcastle

Tell you what I though we were damn lucky to get past Crotdon Athetic. They put us under some real pressure for the last 10 minutes.

Still, thats behind us.

What do you reckon our cup run has done for our chances of survival, and our chances of getting the club back into Slough? (I'll start a new thread on this)?

We can take our frustration out on Browne next week and show him that WE are loyal to Slough Town FC by giving the boys the support they deserve - as we said yesterday - WE ARE PROUD OF YOU!!!!

Dover - your just a small town in Calais!

After spending six hours deciding whether to watch the draw or not it was a horrible feeling to see THAT tie come out. I hope that when the tie is played I will be able to feel happy for Yeading but at this time it is so difficult. As so many have said it is vitally important that the team and the fans stay focused on league matters as any extra fans we may have gained will be easily pushed away again with a run of poor results/performances. There is still so much to play for this season and after a great cup run so much has been achieved. Think of it this way; if we had lost to Walsall no-one would have been upset BUT we wouldn't have got so much great publicity, we wouldn't have got a great pay day from the Yeading match and we wouldn't have seen Matty Miller dancing like a prat on Sky Sports News ( sorry Matty, anything to help the pain go away).

Finally, on the subject of possible promotion, I stress possible, when we had the meeting with Martin Deaner earlier this year, the last point raised was that we needed to pay a sum (I think £500) in advance to show 'loyalty' to the Conference South, so that if we achieved a promotion place it was like a deposit and we would be allowed promotion. It may just be me, but I find it strange to think it was worth paying that money if we have no chance of going up because of the ground situation. Just a thought as my mind whirls in these troubled times. Ho hum ..... is there Capital League on Wednesday (PLEASE!!!!!)?

P.S. If you end up watching the Yeading match amd it gets too tough just imagine they're playing Notts County!

It's gonna be horrendous until January 8th though, the whole world will focus on Yeading and we'll be a forgotten team, just another non-league side. Those awful, awful goals will be shown over and over again. We should just remember how much effort it took to get to the 2nd round, and how many non-league clubs made it that far? Not many.

Bring on Dover, bring on a nice Trophy run and bring on the Rebels giving Wycombe a good humping, hopefully at the Causeway ! It wasn't to be in the Yeading game but there is lots to play for - we need Eddie and Mickey to pick the players up off the floor though.

Not looking forward to going to Yeading for the league match now.

I think I speak for more than just me when I say I hope there'll be no humping at all when we go to Wycombe!

Marcus the Windsor fans there were rubbing our hands with glee if that's a 'big game' performance by your players.

It'll be close. It'll go down to luck on the day. See you there!

Just been announced that they are now looking at holding it at Yeading pending what the local authorities and police say. Considering the Newcastle lot will have about 750 places in the ground, it would mean that not all the tickets holders from yesterday would be able to get a ticket if wanted. Could be interesting. My tickets are more than likely going to two Geordie lads at work.
