I hear what your saying Nathan.

Bunch of guys behind where i was standing were "supporting" Slough yet making fun out of the die hards behind the goal.

They even had the cheak to leave before the end of the match!

Near the end of the first half, some slough 'supporters' started making monkey noises at the yeading keeper. My Asian mate went mental and told them to shut it, and one told him he should be at a cricket match not football! Then a few regulars told them to shut it and their behaviour was out of order, and they did shut up.

Apart from that, it was great in the pub, at the ground catching up with old mates, ending up standing next to Alex Haddows family. I think 2,400 is an amazing gate - it showed there is support, when we are doing well

Let's start giving away free tickets to school kids to get them hooked!

Yeah, but you can be sure we wont be seeing that lot again (Or until our next cup run!)Just like to comment how great the stewards were during the game, how obvious was that pitch invasion? And what did the stewards do... wander slowly over, im suprised they didnt try to pocket our goal posts...

That is appalling, Brighton Rebel, we thought we heard the noise over in the stand and decided we must have misheard - Delroy used to play for Slough for heaven's sake! There is absolutely no room for such folks at STFC. One worry - I hope they don't turn up for the Dover match next week and start abusing Steve Browne like that - that really will damage the club.

Not what we want at our club!

My American Freind and I were at the Game on Saturday, and I managed to teach him some of the songs on Thursday and Friday Nights, so that he could sing along as well. He liked the atmosphere so much that he will be attending more matches, but only if I go along with him.

so that means I will be attending Stag Meadow a quite a few more times in the next couple of months as well.

The monkey noises were coming from a bunch of 'fans' right in front of me.

They seemed to be Slough/Chelsea fans as there was a mixture of shirts being worn (several were wearing Slough shirts).

I noticed the incident mentioned, and hoped that someone would comment on here - I started to get a bit worried as things were beginning to get out-of-hand (and there ain't much room behind the goal at the 'town' end).

Before Brighton Rebel's mate stepped-in, there had been a few comments about 'let's kick racism out of football', but not all sounded like they were said as jokes. Also, to be fair to the chap that BR's mate 'picked on', I don't think he was the leader, and had been asking his 'friends' to stop the noises. (Incidentally, I don't think BR's mate was out-of-order, although I am glad he only expressed his anger verbally).

On a similar note, several of the stewards were wearing Reading jackets ('Madjetski Stadium Steward' - yeah I know the spelling's wrong, can't be bothered to look up what it should be ). I would guess that they had not chosen to be at the game, so I thought that the 'verbal' directed at them was out-of-order, however much Rebels fans dislike Reading FC. (I can't remember the exact comments, but they went beyond 'jovial banter' and were much more akin to 'verbal abuse'.)

[Apologies for the delayed response.

I've been off-line (in 'denial', maybe? ) since the Yeading game...

...takes a long time to read 700+ posts! ]
