See The Positives

Radders

Recommended Posts

Amongst all the negative emotions which we must all be feeling I thought I'd try and spread some positive vibes. 2004 (on the pitch!) has been one of the best years for this club in a long time. The run from Christmas last year was phenominal and to gain 'promotion' a real achievement. Then a cup run like the one we have just had including probably the greatest win in the club's history. As I stated today, when Yeading went 2-1 up it was the first time we'd gone behind in the cup this season, another really good achievement. We have a very winnable Trophy match with the possibility of getting a big Conference team in the next round. We have to get ourselves up for the league and build on some earlier great performances by what is a really good team. Lets make sure that we stay behind the Rebels for the next 6 months and bring on more success. Despite today this year has been a fantastic success and congratulations go to Eddie and all the boys.

Up the Rebels and we are all so proud of you.

Oh my god I agree with Radders!!!!!!!!

It's been a great year with the club. We have come from nowhere to clinch promotion with a game in hand. Built a very good team that's one of the best in the Ryman Prem and there's no reason we should not be involved in the play-off's.

Yeading are a class team. They or Eastleigh will race clear of the pack I think unless people start sniffing round there players. They play great one-touch football and are strong and skilful. I honestly believe that a league club would have struggled to beat them today. Yes we did play badly, but give them credit they played very well.

We have had some great coverage in the cup. Numerous features on Sky, Football Focus, Match of the day - it's been great. Remember we started off at Croydon Athletic where they battered our injury-hit team with Mets up front and Gyoury in central midfield(!) - and came away with Victory.

Now we need to concentrate on the league where we can get to the play-off's and the Trophy. We are one of the last non-league sides out of the FA Cup comp, so why can't we do well in the trophy if we beat Hendon and get favourable draw's. And although people will laugh this is probably the best chance we have had to win the B&B cup for years.

So plenty to play for - wre have had a great year and here's to more and to lots of the 2,400 coming back next Saturday against Dover as Yeading looked like they had 180 Max in my opinion - so there are Rebels fans out there!!!!!!!!!!

see the positives ? , absolutely. The worst thing about today is the players just didnt do themselves justice, which is really tough on them. Wilko apart, I felt we were 2nd best all over the park, and Yeading are a very good team who kept the ball - as opposed to Slough who gave it away time after time. We saw nothing of JC or the mullett & lost our 'production line' for Hodgey.

Eddies done a fantastic job & now it's even harder because its vital that the players pick themselves up & really give it their all in a push for promotion. Then we can look back & say 'we lived the dream' & got an end product for all the hard work everyones put in, especially the 11 blokes who wear the Amber shirt every week. WELL DONE GUYS !

Never mind Slough Town. What matters now is that the players should build on this and try their best to get promotion to Conference south. I know it seems difficult, but I believe in the team. One thing that still hurts is not being able to return to Wexham Park, the place I loved to visit.

Come on you Rebels.

Another positive for you, you can visit Cressing Road on 3rd Round day, instead of a tuesday later in the season.

You can now decide who will feature on the pitch. For the h.t competition.

Sorry to hear you lost today, hopefully you will keep some of those new Slough fans that you have gained by your experience.

All the best Mark.

Another positive is this: we lost in the right way. Yeading were the better team on the day - nobody disputed it, we let their lot swarm around their team on the pitch enjoying their moment, and clapped and sang our boys off. Very mature and totslly in line with the best traditions of the FA Cup.

We could so easily have wrecked all the good publicity that we've attracted recently - but we didn't. Well done everybody. I was gutted like veryone else though.
