What was the Abbey fan(s) problem?

From the start, all they wanted to do was offend the Enfield Town fans - as opposed to supporting their team (although I suspect they were relatives/friends of the players, not actual supporters).

And talk about CHAV central. Do you have to wear a Burberry Cap to watch Abbey play? It's a good thing that Abbey won't be able to actually go up, because with the way their supporters were acting, their clubhouse would be smashed up should they play against clubs with more aggressive supporters.

A Dozen kids with matching trainers & tops, useing language that they wouldnt know the meaning of standing behind the goal at a ground they probaly have never been to before, shouldnt bother anybody, i just thought how sad they were and how proud the parents...(???????)....must be!

Probably one of your usual run of the mill ESL refs. It has always made me wonder, even taking pro refs into consideration, if they all take the same exam/test to qualify, how come there is such a disparity of quality?

There are only one set of laws to our game, but it is the consistency which causes all the heartache.

Have to agree with the last person Enfield DOMIKATED the GAME WITHOUT SCORING ABBEY DID A JOB ON THEM WITHOUT REALLY CAUSING TO MANY PROBLEMS .

Yep. I would say ETFC had the majority of the play but we did our job - they could not get past our defence and the forwards took their chances.

It was up to them to take the game - a draw would have maintained the status quo.

You didn't really expect a classic did you?

So their unbeaten record and away undefeated sequence has gone. I'm so happy!

Well done the Abbotts "onwards and upwards!"

The past few posts have summed up the game: we never took our chances and Abbey did. I can accept that as part and parcel of the game. Abbey's 50 or so behind their goal maintained their usual 40-60 average home gate - I don't think there should be any complaints with that as who wouldn't want the backing of their own club from all teams on such a big day? My only complaint would be the crowd baiting at the end by the Abbey players and the trouble in the tunnel area at the end of the game. You cannot go around pushing aged opposition supporters like that, unless you come from Leyton of course.

anonymous, do you actually know what went on in the tunnel then, if so im sure your not going to defend one of your supporters for spitting at 2 of our players, this also being the same supporter than ran on the pitch at the end of the game and confronted the referee and if it wasnt for the reaction of your players dragging him away you and your club could have been in a lot of trouble.....pls dont start bringing up things you know nothing about, unless obviously you were near the tunnel area after the game and saw something completely different to what everyone else saw?!?!?!

Unfortunately, it was not only Abbey's youth with a lack of hospitality. Upon referring to the keeper as a "big girls blouse" I had a gloved fingered shoved in my face by a bloke in his fifties accompanied with the offer of "punching my !"£$%^& lights out" if I did not shut up - nice ?

Fortunately his wife was on hand to keep him under control and made him stand quietly for the rest of the first half and I have been around enough to not take offence at such immature behaviour.

Having said that there where also a couple of "true" supporters who engaged in normal conversation.
