Cardiff game 97

With the Yeading game less than an hour away and with it the possibility of going into the third round for the first time, it got me thinking of the match with Cardiff a few years back.

 

They scored first pretty early on and we equalised in the second half. But in the last 10 minutes there was a corner to us and soemone, I cant remember who, managed to get a toe onto the ball.

 

It looked like it was just about to creep over the line but because of the wet weather the ball got stuck in the mud on the goal line and was then cleared.

 

Following that game we went to Wales and lost narrowly on penalties.

 

I was behind the goal that day at Wexham Park and I still can't believe it didn't roll in <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/shrug.gif" alt="" />

 

What might have been eh. Hopefully we can put it right today and maybe draw one of the big clubs should we scrape through.

that was Gary Abbott, and Lloyd Owusu had the same thing happen to him in the replay. It doesnt matter if we'd won the FA Cup that year due to the twatish disposition of the chairman of the club at that time

I was at Ninian Park that night and recall an AET defeat, not penalties...
