More Christmas fun

Lets hear peoples light hearted memories of Christmas and New matches involving Margate. One incident I remember is when the one and only Jack Smith (always one for a laugh even today)was sent off on I believe Boxing Day 1970 at Hartsdown (cant remember who opponents were)for,according to the referee the surly way he spelt Smith to the ref when asked his name. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

being stuck at crabble after paying to get in only to be told the game was off although dover were training on the pitch then being told that we could not get money back!!

was it new years day 2000 0r 2001 when we nearly cocked it up versus folkestone again 2-2 missed a penalty then we scored with the last kick of the game. great stuff.

Thats right Ian o,Connell scored two with the winner coming from the most unlikeley of players Lee Williams!!!

On the beach in barbados but would rather have been at hartsdown to see the near 4000 crowd. Maybe not the game though.
