£4,000 Transfer Fee

How clever given our recent financial troubles that we paid £4,000 to Yeading for Miller as reported in the Observer today in their interview with Yeading's Bill Perryman.

 

I thought we had money issues? Clearly not.

When was this payment made - when he joined us or recently?

 

Very expensive half time entertainment or most valuable player in the capital league.

Not read the article myself but in fairness £4,000 for the top scorer in the league (in the previous season) would not be an outrageous fee. However whether it would be considered advisable is another matter.

 

In any event could this not just be Mr. Perryman [censored]-stirring?

I didn't think Miller was under contract at Yeading, and I was under the impression that he was a free transfer (like all of you !) Maybe we can ask him at half-time tomorrow !

I was led to believe it was a free transfer. Let's be honest, we've not been and still aren't really in a position to be paying out any sort of transfer fees for anyone.

 

That said, it's not a slight against the player as he is a good lad, can finish and gives 110%, so no problems with him joining us.

Absolutely not, he's a good player who unfortunately for him has been kept out of the team by the form of others, and injury. In any case, as Martin said above, four grand isn't a gargantuan fee by any means - didn't Yeading recently sign Marvin Morgan from Wealdstone for five grand? And a lot of Stones fans don't think much of him as a player.

Morgan is a very good player. Strong & quick, but his goals to games ratio wasn't that hot. I think that will improve at Yeading as he'll have better players around him and they play more attacking football.

I caught the end of an interview with somebody at yeading on skysports news - I'm not sure exactly who it was (possibly Perryman) but clearly was not as entertaining as our Brent feature the other day
