I have just watched the highlights on conference football and when accrinton score their goal it looks like danny and some of the canvey fans make some strong appeals for hand ball. you cant see from the footage if there was. did anyone at the game see anything, I haven't heard anyone mention it?

Ken, the Canvey fans were standing behind the goal at the other end so it was more likely to be Accrington fans reacting to the possible chance.

 

However, I haven't seen the clip.

 

From where I was standing I couldn't really see the original strike that well, although I heard it, or the block - I thought Danny had blocked and the rebound was followed up, but I've also heard it was a save/block from a defender so the appeals for hand ball may have been from the Accy supporters on the Canvey defender.

 

I never heard any Canvey fans say anything after the goal - so presumed it was a good effort.

 

Shame - because Accy were poor and apart from that effort we could have gained a point I felt.

i ment to say players not fans. it is danny who makes the biggest appeal, he goes running up to the ref waving his hand around.

As I say I was right up the other end and as you know it isn't always easy to see whats going on.

 

For example - couldn't see if it was offside, handball or a possible foul they were calling for.

 

Also Accringtons floodlights were rather poor so my view on it wasn't the best.

 

As I say I haven't seen the clip - can anyone remind me of the site or post a link again please.

Had a look and it isn't that clear - player seems to be in the way when the scorer makes contact with the ball.

 

There was certainly a couple of players who appealed - and their scorer looked round presumably towards the ref as though he felt he may blow the whistle. Still not sure however.

 

Whilst I was on the site I took a look at the Hereford highlights where we featured twice - Hereford looked very good and seemed to make it look so easy - could so easily have been 6 or more. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

there N03 was like lighting when you watched them highlights, just wondering if our guys need to train more to get into peak physical performance, except wardy of course, hes like a duracell battery!!!

Spoke to Danny Potter at Harlow last night. His view was that after a couple of blocked attempts, the ball went behind a stanley player, who then dragged the ball back with his hand, before putting it in the net. In fact he was adamant that is what happened. Another example of a bad decision costing the team that are having the harder time. Still overall we were well worth a point, a view shared by the stanley fans i spoke to. P.S. well done to the Tango army at Harlow last night,all 15 of us!
