Guide To Making £750k

  • Buy non-league football club who you've never seen play before.
  • Allow club to fall into decline by appointing crap manager after crap manager.
  • Piss off all your fans so there's no-one left to oppose re-location to Park Street.
  • Pick up a fortune from your very clever business venture.
  • When you've made all the cash, quit the club as you've never really been interested in them anyway, and then sell the ground for even more profit to build luxury apartments leaving the club up the proverbial creek without a paddle.

You could add "allow the ground to fall into disrepear so you can claim you need a new ground.

Also... claim that moving will see a fall in vandalism.

And... get all the lapdogs to say: "We need a new ground!" at every possible opportunity.

Er, er, ... Not too sure that there's much wrong with Clarence Park. I've still got the letter of congratulations from Peter Hunter in 1999 confirming our Conference 'A' grade for the ground.

I'm sorry to hear that you've lost faith in John. He retains my respect for completing the second CVA that I put together to save the Club from liquidation.

From talking about improving the programme, this thread has changed tack somewhat. I loved the place and still believe that the Club has great potential. You know I respect both of you and am genuinely shocked by your comments. Do you really believe he's in it for personal gain?

Call it a 'hunch', I.W. I'll be the first to put my hand up if I am proved wrong.

A certain contributer to this board, who will make himself known if he wishes, suspected this from day one. It all seems to be heading in that direction.

I was surprised that, living in St Albans, he had never been to a SACFC match before he bought the club, but this may be common-place amongst chairmen. Found it rather odd myself.

I'd be more convinced of his 'love for the club' if we appeared to be heading in the right direction on the pitch. Not sure what the budget is, but it doesn't strike me that we're a club who are Conference-bound.
