A cycling proficiency badge? Been to Europe?

Dear-oh-dear. No, no, no. That will never do.

Route 1 football, JKiF. Channels, JK. What took Wimbledon through 4 promotions in 5 years J? No. Come back and let us know when you have that EUFA Grade A coaching badge. I don't know anything about football, but I shouldn't think that it takes very long.

Hi Rob.

Let's be quite clear. It was my mistake so I'll throw in the extra 5p if, between all of us,we can come up with a fund-raising wheeze to raise 30p each week for you two to buy The Observer. If you re-read my post, Rob, I made no comment in respect of the Media Press and Public Relations operating sub-division of St Albans City F.C.

I couldn't possibly comment upon the relationship between the club and the Observer.

Don't get me started on the matchday programme, Rob. Jolly helpful to have the draw for the F.A.Trophy reproduced twice. Those readers who missed it on page 3 were fortunate as it appeared again in the centre page spread. I wondered if it might be a good idea to print it once more towards the back of the programme to be trebly on the safe side. That's something to consider next time.

It's a shame that there was nothing from Gibbo this week. I know that he's a busy man, of course. It's a good job that it was a fairly uneventful week. Just a new manager and one or two 'minor alterations'to the playing staff.

If you have the team from the Thurrock match on October 8th, you might let the small but perfectly formed committee what produce the programme have details, Rob. While you're about it, perhaps you would let them know the scores from 4 of the 6 matches in September and the Weston-Super-Mare result.

The interview with Matt 'Matty' Nolan was rivetting. Favourite food: Chinese, Pizza, Spaghetti Bolognese. [Not all on the same plate, presumably.] What's playing on the CD in the car: Eminem. Favourite holiday destination: Spain. Another one for the scrapbook. I can't wait for the next home game. I have a hunch that it will be Matt 'Matty' Hann. I can't wait to hear his favourite food, music and holiday destination.

In my humble (me, humble? - no, move on!) opinion, the biggest problem the Club has is that there does not appear to be a Programme Editor.

Whether it's a problem dealing with the company owned by 'The worst Chairman the Club ever had' or a general lack of enthusiasm these days I don't know, but I am saddened by it. I used to take great personal pride in the programmes I produced during 1998-2002.

The budget to produce it has been cut to the bone and beyond and I am really doing it out of love for the Club. But it really does need a bit of TLC. These days, every issue we have to beg borrow and steal stuff to fill the pages.

Jill, I felt at the time that £150 was a fair deal - we were selling 4-500 a game and Tavs was helping the Club make money. But Dave needed to earn more money from his Van driving job and we could afford any more. He did the Spurs prog the following year, taking half the total income from each game, but that didn't work out well for the Club. When we had to stop it in the summer of 2000, that's when Tavs & I started to fall out.

Any volunteers out there to be Prog Editor? [Warning: you may have to speak to me occasionally!]

See, that's just it Mark. It really is a shame that people have a moan, without first thinking to themselves 'What can I do to help make this better'.

Without our continued support, you might have been looking at a photocopied programme. The Club deserves better than that.

Perhaps next programme we should just print what the club provide (and that really won't be worth £2!)
