3-2 after extra time.

Well, you got further than Hornchurch and who would have thought that at the start of the season.

I thought for a good part of the first half last night, we looked more than ok, Nolan's goal was quite brilliant and if Chris Seeby's superb effort, not long afterwards, had gone in rather than crash against the bar/upright, we may have put this game to bed a bit earlier. As has been the case in the previous two games though, we started to sit back again in the second half and the inevitable happened. What I felt as well, was when we were 2-1 up, we should have been going for the killer 3rd goal and not trying to play keep ball in the corner during the last 10 minutes of normal time. We were actually causing them a lot of trouble with our long corners. I just don't get it.

The centre of our defence was again very poor last night and this needs to be urgently addressed. Our midfield, especially in the second half, was under pressure for long periods and I thought Cray's workrate, throughout the whole game, was first class. Bastock looked excellent again and Cousins also had a very sound game. Two more bookings, Clarke and Hooper, both unnecessary. This also needs attention

We are still moving in the right direction, four unbeaten. We can turn this around.

Roll on Saturday. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/top.gif" alt="" />
