Well, anyone watching from Slough today will go away feeling confident of beating us next week (lulling them into a false sense of security).

It didnt look too promising when the team was announced and although we were the better side for the first 15 minutes, Ricay dominated from then on. Although Id only expect to see 5 of the starting 11 from today start against Slough, it was disappointing that those players who came in just didnt take their chance.

In fairness to Ricay they played well and fully deserved the victory and they can only beat the 11 men that theyre playing against (which they did comfortably).

Im sure things will be different Saturday when Preddie, Barima, Leach, Newby, Haule & Campbell all return to the side, although it does prove that some of the squad players we have arent quite good enough. Id back our first 11 against anyone of this level but if you take out more than a couple, we may struggle."

They obviously don't value the Trophy, which is strange as it's winnable, unlike the FA Cup. I thought prize money was up for grabs also, albeit not as much as for FA Cup.

Perhaps there's a secret injury crisis??!

Confirmation that they were resting key players...

...see the match report on the Yeading Official Site.

I guess they reckoned that the potential prize money from the Slough match was worth sacrificing their chance in this year's FA Trophy, with its much smaller prizes.

Is money all you can think about?! Its the Flaming FA Cup!!! a chance to play top league opposition, to get media coverage, to get sponsorship, to increase gate numbers for both cup and perhaps subsequent league games, for the players to say that they were part of the furthest progressing team for their club, for pub banter that people will listen to!
