Wolking game

Draw was a fair result, really pleased with Drury & Pinnock today, we must get this striker in quickly so many chances went begging today.

Shame about the crowd, bit peeved off about the people behind us, when we went a goal down they started moaning and telling Andy to sort it out, no need for it.

Generally a pleasing performance until, as many people have pointed out, the final 3rd or so. Looked pretty solid in defence, thought Mcarthy looked pretty solid and in control, Popovic did some great stuff but a few times made some silly mistakes.. midfield looked good, Drury played well and (most of the time)did seem to know his limits and shock horror, actually passed to others around him. Pinno looked good..but more of a creative midfielder than striker IMHO. If we had a decent 20goal a year striker we'd p*ss this tin pot league (to use a confguide term )

Thought that everyone made a good contribution on saturday, midfield played really well, especially Jay, and Jukebox (not discrediting Macca (1) and Moussa). There was a lot more passing of the ball, and most of the time we used the space pretty well.

Thought Pop was v.lucky not to be sent off for the challenge he was booked for. the officials were useless though, the linesman on the near side (gantry etc) was 10 yards behind the play all the time. No wonder we didn't get any offsides in the first half.

As for the penalty, although Jukebox was going away from goal, he had no idea that the defender was behind him, and so it must have been the force of the defender shoving him in the back that sent him tumbling in the box. Excellent strike from 12 yards by Skins again, he always delivers from the spot!

On the whole, a solid team effort. We just need that clinical touch upfront.

I thought Roy could have knocked a few headers into the box, rather than trying ostentatious shots.

Mckimm wasted no-less than 4 shots aswell. Frustrating. 'There's no i in team!'

Lastly, who was the wally who ran on the pitch for a few minutes when we equalised. Clearly nothing to do with over-enthusiasm given his attire. Burberry & lacoste, his 'chums' were wearing Stone Island. Anyone else agree that the fleet has no place for so called 'hooligans'. can't they be banned before some real trouble actually happens?

A mildly please fleet fan

i wouldnt say lacoste and stone island was particuarly chav, burberry yes i agree. But i see chav more as addidas trackie bottoms, nike caps, a little burberry, a little elizabeth duke (argoS) and maybe some reebok classics. Driving a nova of course.

chavs can't really afford the more expensive clothes of the football casual, such as your stone island and lacoste.

thats my understanding of it anyway.

Thinking about the original post. WHAT A PLEB. seeing as it was a penalty, why oh why did he run on the pitch? pleb. pleb pleb. It is more than likely you will score with a penalty.

It's not exactly beating three men and a 40 yard screamer is it?!?!?!

must have been impressing his little mates. bet they are all talking about it at school today!

My point exactly, there was no intent of REALLY celebrating the goal, just pushing boundaries. I also agree that wearing lacoste, stone island, doesn't always mean that they are neccessarily a hooligan, but this lot have caused trouble in many forms on a number of occassions at the fleet.

I'm sure the majority of the 'chaps' behind the goal know the crowd i'm refferring to. They were also the one's singing racist songs at the Notts County match.

A bomb waiting to go off...

rant over!!

i was at that game, and closer than the plough end, because i was down the main stand under the (as it was then makeshift) tv gallery.

I heard no racist songs, but did see the casuals by the left goal (as i looked at the pitch). Very bold until the pigs got out the "hooligan cam" and then all the hoods and caps started to cover their faces.

The singing was when the congregation came to the Plough End in the 2nd half..Morons

Not only do we not want our players running with the ball, and god forbid losing it, we don't want them to shoot either!! Obstentatious shots what like his 25 yarder against Exeter!!
You lot won't be happy until you've got a team of robots. Pathetic......IMO

There's a time and a place for everything. Sometimes a pass is the more viable option.

Perhaps the more viable option when Roy scored his cracker would have been to pass. A great bit of individual skill saved us a point.

shut up robert, you know exactly what the comment was aiming at.

a speculative shot is viewed and agreed with by the fans every now and again.

most of the time, anyone would rather see the ball knocked in to danger area. how many times have we seen stupid shots taken from miles away go wide, hit the first man, go over etc. one out of 20 if that goes in from long distance. More goals are scored from close range. this is not just true of the fleet, but from all football i have seen, live and on tv
