Reading their board it seems that they have run foul of the VATman with regard to their burger bars. I haven't read all of the posts but it would seem that they were not charging VAT on their hot food which is a taxable supply. So the Boys from Kings Beam House will want their VAT, interest and penalties and they don't care if they have to bankrupt the club to get it.

What IS wrong with Kentish clubs?

Why CAN'T they get their financial acts together?

First Maidstone, then Dartford, then Sheppey Utd, then Sittingbourne, then Hythe, then Margit, now Dover. all the while, Gillingham have teetered on the brink of bankruptcy.

Only the Fleet plod on , safe and sound under the wise helm of Captain Kilcullen, thank God.

Is this not the third time that Dover have been in financial trouble, i seem to remember they changed names a few years back, the trouble CG is that they all want things quickly, although this one seems to be the VAT, lets hope for Kent they pull through, the money that Sittingbourne and Maidstone wasted make you weep, you also forgot poor old Faversham a couple of years ago.

And to add to Mepis comments Dont get too smug Gary we were in a similar situation back in early 1980s when we too had large debts and we should be forever grateful to the excellent job Lionel Ball Snr did in rescuing us and put us back into a postion where we were able first too survive and then begin to make progress up the Non League Pyramid (as well as being our only manager with a 100% record.)

Also forgot to mention the reason that Shearer was taken back to Dover is to boost their bar takings profits are up over 100% since his return I have been informed by a reliable source.
