What are peoples views on Danny Hill?

I think he's a good player. He can tackle, pass and run with the ball... don't think Shippy is a central midfielder tho - he's not mobile enough and leaves alot of work for Hill to do IMO. Maybe Shippy could play up front and play the young guy on the wing? Locke in the middle?

 

We just need to get a settled side as soon as possible and I'm sure we'll be fine.

Agreed Shippy is def not a central midfielder. I think he used to play there when he was younger, not 100% sure.

 

I felt last night Danny Hill seemed to turn into trouble a lot and try to take too many players on when he shouldn't

Maybe but the team has little shape at the moment. No-one really seemed to have too many options when they had the ball last night.

Felt we played a few too many long balls form the back because of this.

 

I'm not knocking the team cos I'm sure all will be fine - we just need a settled team.

There were quite a few long balls last night weren't there. Yeah i'm sure when they all get to know know eachother better and work out eachothers strengths and weeknesses they will become a better team.

 

If a game was won by commitment and passion shown by a team they would have won by a mile last night and Saturday

I'm sure when they all know each others names they will be better!

 

All this happening half way through the season makes it even worse. We are effectively starting the team again from scratch and dont have any friendlies to try things out - just get 11 out there. In the last half dozen games or so the commitment as you say is superb - don't think you can fault anyone who's played for us in that department.

 

And at least we had 34 points on the board!

Shippy used to be a striker when at West Ham. Great Things where expected of him, he used to bang the goals in left right and centre, for the youth team.

Hill kept working on Tuesday and made two excellent tackles just outside the box. With more cohesion in the team I believe he will flourish.

Whatever point of the season, the person I'd like most to see at the helm is Garry Hill - fantastic manager as proven time and time again. With him here and the spirit the team has shown I know we'll be ok.
