Harry J Allstars
Quote: Ummm, no he doesn't. He sits in front of the defence and knits play together, picks up the loose balls and plays the simple pass. It's more noticeable when we play away like at Morecambe for example when he was outstanding. See this is my point I wouldn't have a glue who's side I'd be on in this discussion. At least when I go to Chelsea I know who's doing what and where the balls going.

Guest
Just one small point here..hate to nit-pick! There is no such thing as a Serbo Croat! There are Serbs and there are Croats and the language they speak is either Serbian or Croatian, depending on which of the two nations they come from. Even when there was one Yugoslavia they spoke only the one tongue and called it by their preferred nationality. If this fellow is a Serb he won't appreciate being called a Croat! I'll get my coat! Jimmy
He is technically a Montenegran, like Kesman from Chelsea.

Fleetbabe
Going back to the point on the midfield, have people noticed that Drury plays better on the left than on the right, he looks much more comfortable running down the left for some reason, although he can play on both wings. FleetFanatic
Sometimes his best position is on the subs bench.
chilled out entertainer
i have to disagree about the left right thing, he plays much better when on the right i think. And even more so when he is on the right in the half towards the home (plough) end. This imo must be down to support from that section of the crowd. And you can see his head drop as soon as the boo boys get on his back. Another reason why we should support and not abuse our players. It pays us as andy puts in good performances when he is being urged on.
Fleetbabe
He doesn't play better when he starts on the bench. I might have got myself confused, with the left/right thingy, but he's definitely stronger with his right side, he turns away from any player to his right, so it must be his prefered side. FleetFanatic
So if he played on the right wing and went past a player to the right, wouldn't he possibly run the ball out of play? That would confirm that he's better on the left? Just a thought..... (PS The comment about on the subs bench was a reference to his inconsistent performances.) Guest
There is one language and it is referred to as Serbian/Croatian. Not Serbo-Croat. By people from other countries. Never by the people in Serbia or Croatia themselves. And it's definitely NOT used in describing their nationality! If you ask them, they will tell you either that they are Croatian and speak Croatian or that they are Serbian and speak Serbian. Serbo-Croatian is NOT a language. The point I was making was that the people from that part of the world hate the term being used and certainly not about their nationality. Serbs and Croats can't stand being lumped together. I think, mostly, Zeljko is a name used by Croatians, rather than Serbs, but I would not bank on it. Worth checking out. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/diskussion.gif" alt="" />

Fleetbabe
WHAT'S THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN? it's just something I've noticed when he's got the ball, and making a run, if he gets into trouble with a defender he always seems to turn to his right, rather than to his left. Fleetbabe
And for your information.....I'm not stalking Jukebox, I just happen to think he's a quality player, who's got the skill and the TALENT to go a long way in football when he plays out of his skin (or should that be his kit!!??!!) Why exactly would I be interested in his back or his front? explanation please!
Graham S
I also "called in" to Montenegro for a day, when on a cruise of Italy & Croatia the summer before last. Docked in Kotor, then went up into the mountains before spending some time on the beach at Bucvar. If I remember the very thorough history lesson our Montenegran guide gave us, Montenegro is the only remaining state of the old Yugoslavia not to have severed ties with Belgrade (the capital of the old Yugoslavia as well as of Serbia) and that this remaining 'bit' is now known as Serbia-Montenegro. This, together with the fact that he played for a Serbian side, could be why some reports refer to Zeljko as Serbian. Apparently, in the rest of the Balkans the Montenegrans are renowned as "wildmen" who have a fearsome reputation when it comes to defending against intruders (sounds all right to me.) Anyway, if the comments attributed to him on the back page of this week's "Reporter" are genuinely directly from him, he speaks excellent English.
