FA Cup Tickets - vs Yeading

(This offer is being promoted by both clubs.)

Anyone who purchases a ticket for the FA Cup game between Slough Town and Yeading should keep hold of their ticket stub. On presentation of the stub, it will entitle the holder to priority for the 3rd Round Clash for the team which progresses.

This has been amended on the Official Website (News story links here).

What happens if you can't make the Yeading game ?

One of the people I stand with has only missed one game (home and away) this season, but can not get to the Yeading game.

Will this mean he will not be a priority candidate ?

OK, let's be honest here. Whoever out of us or Yeading wins will be given a fair allocation of tickets for the 3rd Round tie. If it's a big club, the winners of our tie will be given more tickets, and to be honest, there isn't enough of either set of fans to fill a 3-4,000 ticket allocation without the 'glory hunters'.

I don't think the winners of the tie will have too much trouble finding the regulars and getting them tickets.

The other way of course is to guarantee a ticket to any member of the Slough Town Supporters Trust. In the event of any big draw in the future, membership should be suspended prior to the draw so people cannot join just to get a ticket. It should act as an incentive for people to join the Trust, not that they should need an incentive over and above securing the future of our club.

I agree. IF we get to the 3rd round and draw a "big" club then there should more than enough tickets to cover demand, for regulars *and* "glory hunters".

Accepting that we have a tough game ahead of us against Yeading and, beyond that (hopefully),the probabilities of a 3rd round home tie against Man Utd/Arsenal/Chelsea, does anybody know what would happen re. venue and ticket allocation?

Is it correct that we would no longer be permitted to switch the tie to the opponents ground, as we did against Birmingham 10 years or so ago? If so, would we be asked to propose alternative grounds to host the tie? If so, which would be considered? I guess Reading's is the obvious one?

With regards ticket allocation, does the FA stipulate a specific percentage split of capacity for home/away fans for FA cup ties? It's my belief that away fans have a far more generous allocation in the cup than for a league game.

Despite the fact there should be plenty of tickets for all Slough fans (hard-core or fair-weather) for such a tie, all measures the club can take to ensure "genuine" fans secure a ticket are to be applauded. However, with such a concentration of Man Utd/Arsenal/Chelsea fans in these parts it would be interesting to see how the interests of even genuine part-time Rebels fans could be protected. Moreover, I'd certainly want to spend such an occasion amongst Rebels fans than alongside Big Club "locals".

Right, now I can get back to that dream I was having... FACR3: Slough Town v Big Club FC (finally, live on TV)... Zzzzzz

Good call, Ian

Don't know why no-one has previously suggested Trust membership as a suitable qualification for obtaining tickets, if qualification is needed.

Membership of STST shows a level of committment to the club that is not necessarily reflected in physical attendance at matches (speaking personally here!)

I've been to all cup matches this season plus some league and even a reserve match, all whilst living 90 miles a way in Gloucester.I can't make it to the Yeading game, does that make me a fair weather suppporter?

Assuming we get to the 3rd round could someone please tell me another way the club would recognise my support and guarantee me a ticket because I agree with the point above, if we draw Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal etc I believe local supporters of these clubs will come forward and we could easily sell 3-4000.

What about those who are not trust members but who are season ticket holders?

They put their money where there mouth is by buying a season ticket ensuring the club has the money for the season - not just cup games which then cost them extra.

Season ticket holders would take preference over any other category, not instead of Trust members.

I guess another question could be, if you're not a member of the Trust, why not?!

Have just come back from work, checked the site and it says tickets for Yeading will be available on the day? Is this correct? I thought the FA wouldnt allow it? If someone knows that would be great cos i have a load of pupils that are interested in tickets and I can tell them that they are available on the day that would be great! And would save me drawing tons of maps to the shops that are selling them!

I could give you an answer but we've been round this one several times before.

I thought, Budman, that one of your issues was you weren't aware of the Trust objectives some months ago. Those were clearly outlined at the Trust Launch in January and have been repeated in the programme on more than one occasion.

If there's something else, let one of the Trust board know and I'm sure they'll try and help.
