GO MULLET POWER GO!

Having called on a few more friends to get voting it currently stands at:

19.64% Butler, Alfreton

14.56% Cartwright, Hinckley (Shame he's last. Maybe if their fans voted instead of whinging he'd be challenging)

31.11% Key, Histon

34.67% Haddow, Slough

Cue plenty more vote rigging claims from everyone else.

The NLP said today that over 250,000 votes had already been cast (I'm assuming that's as of yesterday). Also whilst I'm on that subject, the red card protest got half the back page, with the story from Gary Chapell that was in the Observer.

If true, I work it out that Haddow is at least 9,250 votes ahead.

He might have done it in terms of the poll but the FA panel may choose to disregard the results as they have the final say. Not sure if previous rounds have been decided on the poll only.

COME ON THE MULLET!!

According to the website it says the player with the most votes will be crowned player of the round. It doesn't say anything about the panel getting involved, they just pick the four candidates in the first place. May be wrong but that is my interpretation and if so Al looks to be home and dry.

The vote has now disappeared but no story as yet.

BTW Just spotted this story from when Scott Partridge won the 3rd Qualifying Round Award.

'Bath City’s hat-trick hero Scott Partridge has won the FA Cup Player of the Round. He is the third player to join the prestigious ‘Team of the FA Cup’, guaranteeing him more FA Cup glory as a VIP guest at The FA Cup final next May and a half-time introduction to the crowd.

Scott, who scored all three goals in Bath City’s 3 - 0 win over Brockenhurst in the FA Cup Third Qualifying Round, gained 41 per cent of the 23,954 votes cast in what turned out to be an unusual and controversial on-line poll at TheFA.com.

During the week of voting The FA was aware of supporters using a simple script to vote for the same player multiple times. To ensure the poll fairly reflected the votes of all supporters, a total of 116,308 votes were identified as being cast via a script and were discounted from the final result. Scott eventually won by a margin of 4,281 votes from his nearest challenger, Worksop Town's Chris Cleary.'

Just hope something like this doesn't scupper Al's chances. Hopefully this was what happened when the percentage suddenly dropped massively and so the end vote was real. Otherwise it may be a real disappointment.
