Injuries.

All clubs pick up injuries. that is why you need a squad of 18 - 20 players, all of whom can be considered first teamers.

However, most clubs appear to collect their injuries during league and cup games, whereas we do seem to pick up a large amount during 'meaningless' freindlies with the likes of Carshalton and Redbridge.

These are always going to be a bit more than just a freindly for the oppo, if for no other reason than their fringe players are likely to try that bit harder, and tackle that bit more strongly against conference opposition.

Could this be why we pick up so many knocks/pulls?

Would it be better if we arranged freindlies with our reserves - but mixing both teams up and Andy and Ade insisting no rough stuff or over competetiveness.

We are now paying a heavy price for our injury list, 1 point from 18 is simply not good enough.

There are too many players to list who are carrying some sort of injury.

Something has to change.

I trust Andy with his tactics and team selection (although of late teams have been picked from who is fit rather than who is in form).

One avenue to aid reducing our injury crisis by a tough fitness regime together with a softly softly approch to match practice.

Any merit in this school of thought? <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />
