Don't believe it

It wasn't the guardian angels on holiday. It was the strikers. Despite dominating the possesssion not 1 shot in the first half. Second half improved, but again we didn't make the most of all the possession that we had.

We didn't get the break with the Linos decision, and on balance of play probably deserved a point. But Bob Taylor showed us what we were missing today

Was worried about Taylor before the game, but he didn't get a look in really, although he missed a couple towards the end, he still ended up scoring, and with class strikers that's what it's all about. We dominated the game, can't just blame the strikers, as it's very rare or us to keep a clean sheet, I mean when do we ever win 1-0

Don't know who gave away the penalty, but it was a absolutely ridiculous push in the back, criminal. The second well taken, but should have been cut out by Popovic. It was a 100 percent battling performance, we were first to ball most of the time, and I was pleased I made the trip, if I only had the NLP report to go by I would have had a totally different view of the game. I mean what were those markings all about.

It was Popovic with the alleged push.

The general consensus seems to be that there was contact, but that Taylor took full advantage of this. As mentioned by FF, if the player doesn't fall to the floor naturally (i.e. the force of the opposition player's contact is enough to knock him off his feet), he is trying to con the referee and so is guilty of 'simulation'.

Having said that, we aren't exactly guardian angels ourselves - Moussa and Drury have been known to go to ground a little easily, including a couple of incidents yesterday.

Problem is with us, when we go to ground in the penalty box, we end up getting booked. I have to disagree about Popovic, who I thought was fault with both goals. Thought he started off all right, but second half he hardly won a ball both on the ground and in the air. Maybe he needs a bit of time to settle, trouble is we haven't really got time.

Yes, 5s and 6s for all of our players was somewhat harsh. At least we know the man writing the report didn't come up with the ratings - McKimm, who got 5, was described as 'superb'.

However, their description of Popovic as a 'Siberian centre-back' did cheer me up a little. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
