There are many clubs who would take advantage of charging to park. Others cannot and street parking has always been the norm.

 

Personally I park away from the ground and walk - taking in the fresh sea air as I go.

 

Only point that sprung to my mind was if many people start to use the ample street parking instead of parting with £1.50 it may start to "annoy" local residents on match days, and with the new ground still in planning etc. it will give others ammunition to throw at the club with regard access, congestion and disruption.

 

Don't necessarily disagree with it - think the timing is a little odd.

I do not get peoples complaints about paying for the car park. If you live on Canvey then walk to the ground and have a drink. Away fans that HAVE to drive to the ground deserve somewhere to park and they won’t mind paying £1.50 to be close to the ground.

although i dont drive i think paying £1.50 isnt that bad to park. if we were the only club that charged then fair enough but we are not. im sure people will come around to the idea once they get used to it

I live near charfleets and i walk to the ground & it take about 45mins so it isnt to bad plus by the time i get there i am gasping for a few pints.

one thing i noticed since we started charging was there was cones down the roads around the ground so you had no choice to go in the car park or was it because of the large attendance that was expected?

Anyway - slightly back to topic (but not by much)- looked at the Accrington Stanley forum and website and they are averaging a "three goals" against us prediction - suprised they didn't go for four as it seems to be our lucky number lately........

 

Looks like loads of parking behind either end of the ground and its FREE.

 

Any idea's on how long it takes to get up there by car?
