This is a Philips 775 twin CD recorder in excellent condition. Purchased about 2 and a half years ago, I bought it in order to transfer some of my vinyl onto CD. However as it has dual CD decks, it is also ideal for copying Cd’s.

 

The recorder is exceptionally easy to use and produces fantastic copies, the only reason I am selling it is because I now use my PC to copy CD’s

 

The item will come with all manuals and leads and includes the remote control.

I've got a Philips CD Recorder and it's pretty good. Very handy for recording tapes onto CD and also recording CD's that have PC copy protection on. Doesn't seem to like vinyl though, as vinyl doesn't use 'Line Out' or something.

This one seems to be OK for vinyl, that's what I want it for.

I'm updating all my stereo system at the mo, brought a Digital Radio over the weekend, need a new turntable etc

 

It's currently 26 notes, I won't go too much higher though as p+p is 15.

Beware though, as mine says it's good for vinyl too, but it only seems to record at a very low volume - barely audible.

I have been through this problem before. You need to put the feed through an amp. You need an amp with a moving magnet loop, sounds complex but it isn't, you can also get a small box called a phono amp which does the job equally well.

Basically I just connect it between the turntable and the CD recorder, yes?

Personally I would put it through the amp, £33 seems a bit high though, I'll have a bit of hunt then get back to you!

Phono cartridges work at very low voltages and require additional amplification before reaching the line-level parts of a pre/integrated amplifier.

I think there's a very good chance it would work directly to link the turntable to the preamp to the recorder, but for safety sake I would use the amp too as it would guarantee 100% that it would work (providing your amp has a tape loop or output).

 

This is too technical for a Monday!
