This is not an official announcement, but no sign of Hooper, De Souza or Wraight at the Margate game.

Zoricich was on the bench and Roddis (captain) played the full 90 mins. Also on the bench, Darren Williams, a defender from Grays, originally from Stevenage.

Ram Marwa played at right-back and didn't look particulary happy there. On the plus side, John Armand made several great saves, but still looks a but vulnerable to the high cross.

Ben Martin had a stormer in the centre of defence, gets better every game. Matt Nolan also looks like a decent player, made some good touches and took both goals really well.

From what I can gather Rob, De Souza and Wraight have been released. Also Adam Parker was captain today, not Nick Roddis.

I thought Cousins and Walshe were again our best players by some distance. We looked much better going forward today but that could be down to Margate's defending, which was poor. Nolan impressed me greatly and we must consider signing him on a permanent basis. He is streets ahead of Beech in all departments.

Our defence, with the exception of Cousins, was given a real lesson today with all of their goals the result of defensive errors on our part. It must be very disheartening for Clarke and Nolan to get us back into the game and then see our lead squandered almost immediately. Marwa filled in today on the right side for Hooper and looked hopelessly out of his depth but even more worrying was the centre of defence, which is a major problem and needs sorting as a matter of urgency. A commanding and experienced 'Derek Brown' type would help and I would be happier seeing Seeby playing in midfield, his rightful position in my opinion.

Roll on Hornchurch, next Tuesday. Now what a sweet 3 points that would be.

From a very good source I understand that, Miguel De Souza and Gary Wraight have, indeed, been released Rob. Chris Zoricich and Darren Sarll 'do not form part of the [Caretaker] Manager's future plans' and are transfer listed. Dean Hooper went on to the transfer list 'at his own request' and was not available for selection on Saturday due to a mystery virus from whcih he is expected to make a full and complete recovery.

[i'ts not like this with the oval-shaped ball.]
