Cllr Richard Stokes has also offered his support in the wake of the victory.

I'm looking forward to reading it Chris. I also understand through somebody I know at the Express that their journos were not impressed by the lack of photos taken by their cameraman on Saturday. I think the Observer will be whooping them for coverage, even more than usual

Tremendous coverage in both papers but particularly the Observer. Interesting concept that Richard Stokes wants us to suggest a piece of land rather than the Council. Ok, how about Arbor Vale School or Upton Court Park or Salt Hill Park? There you go, councillors, get to work.

There's a letter from Dexter-Smith in the Express which suggests a 1500 stadium is adequate. Where, councillor, would you have put the several hundreds of people that were at the Walsall game or indeed at the last FA Cup first round game against Harrogate who couldn't have got in? Maybe if ANY of the current ruling council ever turned up they might be aware of such facts.

If this is the council's idea of help, god help any group who they are actively seeking not to help.

Most of Upton Court Park is in Slough, including the Club House of Slough Rugby Club, but the Rugby pitch itself is in the Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead, it would be far better if they made the Borough Boundries at that point the M4.

Also had to laugh at Stokes' comment that he might take action against the Telegraph for the comments attributed to him. Maybe any ruling in this respect should refer to the precedent Stokes set himself by falsely accusing the Slough Observer of offering him an apology for comments of his they reported when their Chief Executive categorically denied ever having done so. Your reputation preceeds you in this respect, Councillor Stokes.

I fell around laughing at the quote from Councillor Stokes that the red card protest was much better than making false statements. I don't know what he is on, but do they get it on the rates?

Believe me, Councillor, we are babes in arms compared to you and your cronies when it comes to making it up as we go along!

So stop messing about playing with words, it is very simple:

Tell the Council officials to look at the land in the borough and identify a piece large enough to build a football stadium big enough for a team at our level (i.e. the size of Wexham Park)with the necessary facilities of parking and community space, so we can earn our own living to fund the club, on which you are prepared to grant planning permissions BEFOREHAND (not getting caught like that!) and tell Mr Deaner and the Slough Supporters Trust.

There - that should be easy to understand! Now you know how to show all the support you have declared for the club, so we can all see it to be true.

How about behind asda, the government didnt mind destroying all the land around it (Which was where i used to play as a kid--god i sound 50 not mid twenties)For asda itself and to make millions out of the houses there! Or knock down Chalvey rec and use that! (probably not big enough!) Or take a chunk out of Farnham Park (Not my teams pitch please) Or theres that disused woodland at the top of Northern road, and a huge load of playign fields there!! 1,500 they'd never let us back into the Conf with that capacity!!

Thanks to Gary and the Observer !

Really great coverage..... The pictures and words and the buzz around our town speaks volumes for our case ....

keep it up Slough Town FC..

so proud to be a rebel.....

Also remember our attendence at Windsor last week were more than most of these councillers got in the elections ...and in fact many only got very small polls and very small majorities....

So we have power in numbers and if we have to fight the next round of elections...just maybe we can put a few candidates up in the next local election ?

As for Dexter Smith commenting about a 1500 capacity stadium...his win and poll if you check were so small a portacabin would be all he needed for a meeting....

The passion for our town football club is rising, so please please help us...embrace us....be proud of us and above all give our town its football ground back !!!

Up the rebels.....

cheers Chris Sliski

Spot on Andrew - nice and simple when you put it like that, rather than all the spin and bullshit from the council.

If we get to the third round (and i know its a big if) it really will put pressure on them, and they can expect more articles such as the one in Telegraph, cos let's face it everyone loves to have a pop at Slough.

But hey everyone, let's leave parks and woods alone eh? How about asking Tesco if we can move back to the Dolphin site rather than more poxy shops.
